    1. My First Winch...Serious Toy! Review by Tomcat1953

I just put an Iron Cross Bumper on my Ford F-250 Super Duty Truck and couldn't wait to purchase my first winch. After days of researching, I chose the Tuff Stuff Extreme 12,500 lb winch for its price and looks. When it came to the house, I was surprised at how heavy it is and seems to be very well built. I installed it myself in about 30 minutes, it fit the pre-drilled bumber perfectly. The only problem is I cannot access the remote cable port, but that will be easy enough to fix. I played with my new toy by pulling my truck across the yard and learning as I went, this winch is very powerful and I'm very happy with it. I am looking forward to being a good neighbor and pulling vehicles out of the snow this coming winter. Only question is how do I get a Tuff Stuff Winch T-Shirt? (Posted on 4/29/14)

I got this winch just a few months ago and it has paid for itself several times over already. First time I pulled a stubborn tree stump with 3'' roots in about 20 minutes. It probably could have been quicker but I took it slow for the first test. I then moved my wife's car out of the road after an accident that caused 1 wheel to lock up.
I wish they included a d-ring with the snatch block, but their pretty cheap anyways.

Well worth the price, great quality, looks nice, and easy to install. I recommend getting a pull-pal at the same time (would be nice if truck and winch sold those as well). I also got the synthetic rope and replaced the line on day 1, but I saved the steel cable if needed later. (Posted on 2/27/14)

I purchased this a little over 3 months ago, I also bought synthetic line which I'll review separately. I am glad this came with the snatch block, but I wish it came with a d-link as well because without that the snatch block is useless.
This was my first winch, but I've used it a few times and was impressed. I tested it several days after installing on a very stubborn tree stump. Once hooked to the stump I was able to get it pulled out in around 20 minutes. I now believe it could have been quicker but I was taking it easy on the setup. I've used it 2 more times and have not heard any odd noises, only got hot once when moving my wifes car off the road after a car accident; but even then it cooled in just a couple of minutes.

Overall this was easy to install, had plenty of wire, a full setup except a mounting plate. I recommend getting a pul-pal if you live anywhere without winch points though. (Posted on 2/27/14)

Good winch used it this weekend. Had the wireless finally working but man what a draw on amps. Great winch would by again. Put on my H2 for the front with portable receiver works and looks great. (Posted on 1/20/14)

    5. Great value Review by Carlos

This was an excellent value, with a lot of included accessories and parts for the price. A reasonable amount of hookup cable was included, as well as most of the things needed to mount it, the two remotes (wired and wireless), damper bushing, hook, etc. The only thing I had to go buy was flat-head bolts since the mount plate sits flush against the bumper (the included bolts were standard hex head). The cable was long enough to be hidden below my bumper/grille and reach the battery on my Jeep JK.

I haven't actually had to use it for a recovery yet, just ran it with a light load to practice. Seemed to work just fine with no abnormal noises or issues.

Ive used it for over a year almost daily on flatbed pulling trucks ,tractors, machinery on and only small issue was resolved quick!! Only need too pull vehicle part way on and let it cool down then continue as pulling up the deck is way more load then rating of winch..Very pleased with this purchase and have purchased 2 more for friends.
