Very heavy duty, have not used it yet to power out of a hole but plan on using it to
winch out trees , on the back of my M5040 Kubota. Bought the hitch mount setup so I can transfer to my 2011 F150.
I use a stand a lone battery setup that also hooks up to the vehical battery for optimal power.
The extra features that came with this winch are great! This is the best deal for the
money. I did a lot of research and this gets you up to the bigger boys for easier money. I hooked this up to my 3 point hitch. Remember if you buy a hitch setup, you
will need to buy 10-30 ft of #2 awg multi stranded wire to run from your front battery to the back of the hitch for your winch. I know this is expensive but........its worth it.
Also please buy a fuse for this system so you dont burn down your 4x4 or tractor. I bought a 400 amp and a fuse holder made for this. I also bought a 500 amp in case I am wrong with the 400. If the 400 blows, no winch. 500 will keep it running and safe. (Posted on 11/17/12)

I recently purchased the 12,500lb Tuff Stuff winch from you and I love it. I used it for the first time this weekend pulling out a full size truck from a wet muddy lake bed. The truck was buried up to it's doors and couldn't be pulled out the traditional way with a tow strap. The Tuff Stuff winch didnt hesitate when it pulled him about 40ft before getting him to dry land, I used it again the next day pulling out another truck that was stuck in the mud again. Before hooking up the winch we tried connecting the buried truck to two 4x4 tow vehicles but they couldn't budge him free. I then pulled in and hooked up the 12,500lb winch to the buried truck and another chain to a tree behind me and began pulling the truck with the winch, about 5 minutes later I had him out. Everyone was impressed to say the least. The winch never got hot and it worked flawlessly. I look foreward to using it again as soon as possible.

Thanks for the great winch and great price

I bought this winch and mounted it to the front of my ramcharger. It just keeps pulling and pulling! The thing did make a klicky noise and stop, but i just pulled the remote out and plugged it back in, and worked fine, i pulled a few trucks stuck in sand out with it. Cant wait till i order the waterproof version of this winch! (Posted on 11/16/11)

Updating review of 2/11. Have REALLY USED the winch! So far so good. 3 weekends ago I used it at our offsite Church Campus to pull out some very large Junipers (7) 6 Cypress trees, a large bird of paradise and 2 Camelias. It did in fact get very hot from all the continual use and stop working. I thought it was the solenoids, then realized that my negative lead on top of the winch melted. Replaced it and kept yanking out trees! 2 of them required a snach block double lined to my rig (while being anchored). Still pleased. (Posted on 10/27/11)

When you only plan to use this for personal use here & there, this is a perfect deal. I had read some poor comments off a search engine site regarding this model and the warranty. At just 5mos old I recently had an issue with it where it will only wind in but not out. I expected to have to buy the parts figuring there was some clause in the warranty that will not cover it. But their customer service guys were extremely helpful in diagnosing the proper part, then shipped it right out in 3days! No charge. After installing new solenoids, I discovered it was not the problem. Again very helpful staff #2 shipped out a new motor. Again, No charge.
So I can't speak for the person with the bad experience. Maybe he wanted parts for a 3 year old winch he's been using on his roll-back? But if your just looking for something with some serious power to use with your own toys, this is a great buy, with a full warranty that they do honor without 20 questions or a hassle.......... The only negative comment I have about it is: The F---'er weighs 100lb and is a bitch to move around!! Good Luck with yours!! (Posted on 8/29/11)

quick and dirty - it is a nice stout unit, massive cable // does what it says it does, and have used it numerous times. No overheating, no issues. Only concern was the solenoid housing sits on top of the spool and can get rubbed when the cable is fully spooled in, but that was an easy adjustment to correct.

All in all a nice unit and you cannot beat the price - these days it serves duty on a 1994 JCB Backhoe pulling trees out of the woods (I replaced it only because I needed it to build a new hunting cabin) (Posted on 4/13/11)

Purchased the TS-12500 on 2/02/11. Installed it on my FJ80 behind the front bumper. Used the universal mounting bracket with a few mods. Stealth & clean looking. Solenoid housing was detached and mounted in the engine compartment. Went to Gold Mountain on 2/05 & was able to use the winch removing a fallen tree on the trail. It first dragged the FJ80 towards the fallen tree. I wedged the FJ80 against some rocks and re-pulled. Felt as if the winch was being ripped out of the rig. That is when I realized that the tree was being dragged. (A BIG tree). Worked well (effortlessly). Have used it around the house/shop and seems to be working sans complications. Will update review periodically. (Posted on 2/11/11)

    15. Extreme Testing Won Competition Review by Dennis

I mentioned to my club that I am testing a new winch and if it holds up to my extreme testing, I will be selling them. I immediately had a winch challenge put up by the club to move an 8,000 lb Granite Boulder. The competition brought a Warn 8000 worm drive and subsequently burnt it up. This was after all the talking about how this particular Warn winch has been used to do impossible works. I think he had some degraded wiring issues that pulled too many amps under a full load and caused them to melt down.

After that, my turn. I picked up the boulder hoisting it onto a trailer effortlessly and needless to say, won the competition and created some shock and awe in the group. The funny part was the boulder was so heavy (my trailer is very strong) the weight of it on the tail deck of the trailer lifted the tongue and the back end of the my tow truck up so high I had to have another truck pull me across the site to move the boulder. I couldn't get any traction from the rear drive tires because they were barely touching the ground.

    17. Tough Stuff Winch Review Review by Neverhome

I used the 12,500 lb Tuff Stuff for the first time during a heavy, wet, snow storm in Maine this last week. It is mounted on the rear of my F250 HD Diesel 4X4. The combined weight of the truck, snow plow, loaded tool box,, full dual gas tanks, and a pick up bed half full of water logged snow, I would estimate at close to 8,500 pounds. The weather has been unusually warm here and the ground did not have time to freeze before the storm hit. Consequently, in the course of one night of plowing I buried both my front and rear wheels up to the hubs in soft dirt and snow. All three times, the winch ran flawlessly and never overheated. The only flaw I ran into is that the cable tends to rub on the solenoid housing when the spool is close to full. Not enough to damage it but it could stand to be a 1/2" to 1" higher above the spool. Other than that, I feel this a great winch for the money.
It literally paid for itself in one night considering the cost to have three wrecker calls.

Even though it is manufactured in China, using Australian Engineered specifications, I have no reservations on recommending this winch to anyone.
