This weekend we were in Kenai fishing for Red Salmon off the beach. It was so crowded people were driving trucks and four wheelers (in some cases motor homes) into less than groomed areas. For whatever reason I was the only one with a large truck and winch powerful enough to get the job done without calling in a wrecker...

This weekend alone... NO EXAGGERATION.....
- I pulled out a 36' CLASS A Double axle motor home stuck on beach...

- Another big ass dodge that got stuck trying to pull out a Toyota that was towing a boat..... So one pull consisted of my line connected to another Full Size Dodge which was connected to a Toyota Tundra towing a boat..... No problem.... :)

- And various other vehicles... (about 4 other pulls)

After all that I scored 20.00 bucks (because I kept giving the money that was offered back), a free tattoo (which I am owed for pulling out the owner of some tattoo shop) and a lot for new friends..... Thanks guys.... (Posted on 7/18/11)

this winch is big pics do not do it justice. i just installed it on my 2003 f350 6.0l 4x4. i installed on a warn trans4mer brush gard with warn winch plat. had to drill 4 holes in the plate but winch looks and fits great. iv only used it 2 times but the line speed was good but i have yet to truly test the power. the down sides are the 7/16 cable is kinda tuff to pull out, during install i had to take apart fairlead to pull the cable clamp threw the fairlead so the hook can be connected. i am still happy with this winch. will post again once i have used it on something challenging that will test its true power. Hi, I wanted to let you know our winch works great!!! We are a John Deere dealer in Minnesota. We mounted the winch on the front of our 5th wheel flat bed trailer. Our trailer is approximately 32 inches off the ground, with beaver tail ramps. Our first "mission" for the winch was to go out in 0 degree weather and get a tractor that would not start and haul it back to the shop for repair. The tractor was a 3010 John Deere that all the fluids were just a little bit thick, as you could imagine. So my mechanic backed up to the front of the tractor and let the ramps down. He then pulled the cable out and hooked it to the chain around the front axle (no snatch block), and climbed on the tractor. Using the remote, he was able to sit on the tractor and steer while winching it up on the trailer!!! Perfect!!! I have no doubt we will be able to winch even bigger tractors as well. Thanks again!!

This is one powerful and well built winch. You won't find a better winch for the money. If you are the person that had to have the Nike's all your life to play basketball, then go get an overpriced Warn. You are paying for the name. I'm sure there are some cheap built winches out there, but this is not one of them. Thanks Recon for making a great winch for a reasonable price. (Posted on 11/27/10)
